Philosophy of Early Childhood Education
Early childhood is showing the children that you care, encouraging and giving them the drive to learn and by giving your time to help children learn. An educator’s purpose is to foster holistic development to go above and beyond for all children in relationship and environment.. Give them the push to succeed in life expectancy. I believe that teachers are a mentor and guide to the children.
Maria Montessori she believes teachers should educate the senses. Maria Montessori said, “The children are now working as if I did not exist.” I support Montessori's belief that I do and would use her ideas in my facility. Montessori believed that the learning tools in the classroom should be child-sized, and that the tools should be real tools. A beautifully structured and organized environment is needed in order for children to appreciate what is happening around them. I also agree with Len Vygotsky. He believed that children on the edge of learning a new concept can benefit from interaction with a teacher or a classmate. He showed that children learn through physical and social interactions as well as cognitive. On my personal thoughts and opinions you guide children by giving them supporting information and they will take what you give and soar. Children are like a sponge; they absorb everything, if you present it to them in a fun way. The problem today is the demand for children to learn faster than they are ready. Children need the time to explore the world around them. I will use the methods of Montessori and Vygotsky to enrich my classroom environment to help the children develop in all domains of learning. My goal is to one day open up a child directed inclusion center with my daughter, based on Montessori methods.
